Live the Life with the Circumstances
If there is any part of your life that is not going how you would like it to or how you envisioned it, I can relate! I had anticipated something different. There is a gap between my expectations and my reality and actual outcome.
I have much more to be thankful for than to be ungrateful for. God has been with me, is with me, and will be with me.
This is one reason I often wonder, how do people who don’t follow Jesus get along in life? The truth about Jesus is so huge in my life and His love is so dominating in my life, I do not know how others get through without Him. I am glad, if nothing else, I have Jesus and He has me.
I recently heard @davidmckinneyjr sing “I’d rather have Jesus” during my first service back in the building @crosschurch since COVID-19 started disrupting many things. (As Pastor Jeff Crawford stated, COVID-19 didn’t affect God’s Kingdom. His Kingdom is different!)
The song says in part…
I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold I’d rather be his than have riches untoldI’d rather have Jesus than houses or land
Yes I’d rather be led by his nail pierced hands
Than to be the king of a best domain and beheld in sins dread sway
I’d rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today
[ vibes ] I’d rather have Jesus than worldly applause I’d rather be faithful to his dear cause
I’d rather have Jesus than world wide things I’d rather be true to his holy name
I’d rather have Jesus.
Even though things in life aren’t ideal, what we anticipate, or what we expect…Even though others may seem to have a better circumstance or a better situation…
God has us where we are for a reason and for a season. “However, each one must live his life in the situation the Lord assigned when God called him. This is what I command in all the churches.”
1 Corinthians 7:17 HCSB
Live your life in the situation God has you in. Intend to Live it out as best you can and let God do the rest. Don’t worry about what you can’t control. You handle what you can handle and pray for God to help you with what you can handle AND for what He alone can handle.
“I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.”Philippians 4:11 HCSB
Whether you had a leg up in life or not…or whether or not you just experienced a GREAT unmet expectation….learn to be content.
Content with what?!!!…keep reading.
“I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.”Philippians 4:13 HCSB
You can do it! You can endure. Look to Jesus on his throne, your Father in Heaven, and His Holy Spirit on earth.
He will help you.
“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.”James 1:2-4 HCSB
God is involved in your life. This life is too short to be depressed, despondent, or discontent.
“Each person should remain in the life situation in which he was called.”1 Corinthians 7:20 HCSB
Here’s the best part…
We get Jesus! We get God! In the end (and yes even now on earth), if you believe and trust Jesus, you live eternally with your creator in Heaven.
Heaven will exceed every expectation! Heaven will be beyond better than any circumstance you could ever dream up. You may have a buddy on earth who had a wealthy successful dad who hooked him up with great circumstances. Well, you have a Heavenly Father who has hooked you up with eternal life beyond any good thing you could ever imagine.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 6:23 HCSB
Eternal life in heaven is what you have to look forward to. Think about that when you feel like life has thrown you a curve ball when you were expecting a underhand toss or a ball on a tee.
Thank you God for Jesus Christ!
